The Resident Evil series is very popular thanks to the intense horror that it delivers and the fact that you have this unique opportunity to explore the game from new perspective is one of the major selling points. Here you explore the ordeals that were experienced by the STARS Bravo team.
The interesting thing for me in this game is that each of the two characters has a specific ability which does come in handy. Combine it with the fact that you can do partner zapping/changing then you will see that there are indeed some new and fun additions to the series.
They integrated a management system for items too which does bring in some new layers of strategy. It might not be the best choice right off the bat but it does bring in front incredible results and that’s maybe the best thing.
The survival horror controls are a little clunky and outdated, as they remain pretty much the same when you compare them with the first entry in the series. It’s not a bad thing for sure, but if you want to see this as an evolution you do need to update it for the new generation, which the game did fail to do a little bit.
I like the fact that they added abilities to each character because this provides you with a multitude of methods that can be used to approach the game. Combine that with a true attention to detail then you will see that Resident Evil Zero HD remaster is indeed an astounding game and one that manages to test your capabilities.
Aside from the controls, all the other survival horror elements are actually a lot of fun and the fact that there are a ton of puzzles to be solved definitely brings in front unique gameplay opportunities that you can enjoy. It’s really fun and exciting to play and solve these puzzles because they really are different and well worth your attention.
Resident Evil Zero HD remaster’s graphics might not be that impressive but they are functional and for me that’s what matters the most. They could have worked a little more on the animations but I guess that’s connected to the clunky controls, however I do feel that the game does a great job when it comes to offering you impressive results and a true attention to detail.
I also liked the idea that you can drop items on the floor and have their location displayed on the map because it does integrate with the story quite nicely and that’s a very interesting idea at the end of the day.
With a good plot and interesting gameplay, Resident Evil Zero HD remaster is what fans of this series need however it does have a little polish in my opinion. Still, if you love survival horrors then this is a must try for sure so you should totally check it out!
