Quantum Break Review

Quantum Break is one of the latest games that use the time travel formula, but what sets it apart is the way everything is placed together and how fun the entire experience really is. Right off the bat you will see that Quantum Break has a demanding story and one that seamlessly blends in-engine scenes with real life, live action cut-outs.

These really add a lot of cohesiveness to the game and make it feel like a TV show. The fact that you can also see multiple episodes unfold in front of your, it does show that Quantum Break does care about the choices that you make and hopefully we will have a TV show based on this as it would be really good.

The main character in the game does a really good job at portraying a sense of scare and fear but he will definitely try to build up and become a more powerful person by the end. At first, these powers are a little overwhelming for him but as you play he will enjoy stopping time, using time stutters and all the time blast powers that he gets. Joyce, the main character is also a nice choice as a cast because he really conveys the sense of scare really well and you will enjoy the way he shows that without a problem.

Platforming is a great aspect of the game and it does integrate seamlessly with puzzles at times. Sure, you won’t have to jump around all the time, but it does make the experience very interesting and immersive. Of course you will die at times because the gameplay does get intense, but as a whole you will genuinely feel that sense of scare and such a thing is really bad to begin with.

It’s nice to be able to make decisions that influence the state of the game, but what really matters here is that these choices don’t make that much of a difference to begin with. Sure, it’s a lot of fun and excitement building up here, but as you go along you will see that the gameplay gets more exciting and refined. You will enjoy the graphics as well, as they are very realistic and look simply stunning to begin with. Sure, there are portions such as mouth animations where a little more work could have been done, but the time stopping effects and the entire set of time powers look more than exciting and as a whole you will appreciate and enjoy them.

Quantum Break has received a lot of marketing which is expected considering that this is a new franchise, but it does build up quite nicely. It’s a fun game for sure but it does fall flat from a gameplay standpoint at times and there are situations in which most gamers will just get tired of puzzles and platforming. The time powers are innovative but they aren’t used as cleverly as they should have been. Yes, there are issues with Quantum Break but it’s the first game of its kind and if Quantum Break 2 will appear in the future, they will surely improve on them. Even as it stands, Quantum Break is a great time investment and a solid purchase.
