We know lot of you guys face a lot of criticism in your daily life from your friends, coworkers, and family members. Following are some of the misconceptions you must have faced at some point and will probably feel our pain with this list. For the sake of convenience we will be publishing in two editions.

1) Games are not beneficial

The first misconception that really bothers us gamers is the belief that gaming is not beneficial. There has been various studies of gamers having better accuracy in decision making, better hand eye coordination and even can be used as a better alternative of conventional work out. There are even some games especially designed for medical therapies, like improving reading speed of children with dyslexia, helping stroke patients recover better and faster, reducing mental illness of elder people and even reducing anxiety or pain caused by medical procedures.

Seriously though, have you ever felt that while you are driving in a racing game, you have a way better reflexes to dodge an obstacle that normally people might not be able to do.

Now after all these if you are still getting bullied by your non-gamer friends, well it’s better to ignore the ignorant.

2) Video games make people Violent

One of the things that bothers us the most is that “video games make people violent”. There has been numerous studies supporting the fact that playing games in fact alleviates stress and releases tension.

Yes we might commit murders in Grand Theft Auto and slaughter countless aliens, but at the end of the day we are still human and we will still feel bad if we misbehaved with someone or might cry in loneliness after accidentally killing an animal on a busy street. The idea of gamers being blood thirsty is so unnecessarily judgmental and baseless.

3) Gamers are Nerds

Just because we play games means that we will automatically know four different computer languages and can fix someone’s computer for free is so unjustified. Just because you play Minecraft on computer, your Grandma might think that you can fix her phone. You might not even know how to fix it, or even if you know doesn’t mean that you are automatically a crazy super nerd.

We are not going to fix something for your or help your kids in playing a video game just because you thinking that we are lonely and might love to have a company, because the first thing you need to know is We Are Not Lonely AT ALL !!!

4) All gamers are Guys

One of the common misconceptions is that all gamers are guys. While it might also not be true that as much as 50 % of them are girls as posed by many website studies, there is definitely a lot of women out there who are equally excited about games and some of them in fact outperform guys in numerous titles.
