CoD leaks

A Leakipidia of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

It’s time to get hyped for the next edition of Call of Duty as multiple leaks have been surfacing in the past few days confirming the next release of Call of Duty title for this year.

It’s time to get hyped for the next edition of Call of Duty as multiple leaks have been surfacing in the past few days confirming the next release of Call of Duty title for this year. This however has not come as a shocker considering the fact that Activision has been quite consistent in releasing of new edition annually and that they would usually release the title name by the end of April.

First in the list of leaks came in the form of a new game listed on PlayStation Store that strongly suggested the title of this edition as Infinite Warfare. However the game was listed for only two hours and later removed, as if it was not supposed to be there. One of the interesting facts about the title is that the development studio behind the widely celebrated Modern Warfare series was also name Infinite Ward.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding the theme of the game following the leaked name. One of the theories suggests that the release will be a reboot of the entire Modern Warfare series, which is quite interesting considering the fact that Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 are still considered the best out of all the releases. However there is another theory speculated by the community suggesting an even crazier theme, a reboot of the good old very first release of the Call of Duty series with a storyline of time traveling, which by the way is similar to the one adopted by the movie series Terminator. Now that certainly fills a sense of nostalgia considering the fact that a majority of the community has been asking for this for quite some time.

However this is not the end of the list of leaks, as this time around there is an even more explosive leak circulating in the form of an image. As posted by Neogaf, the image is nothing less than a pre-order poster or a boxart clearly suggesting the same name from previous leaks and a tentative release date for the upcoming edition. The poster looks quite genuine rather than being fabricated.

Activision has also jumped into the trail of leaks to further increase suspense in the fans with the release of a new teaser trailer on their YouTube channel. The 30 second trailer doesn’t deliver any definite information about the upcoming release, however the end of the video will certainly catch your attention, “We are the settlement defense fight...”. Additionally, the frequent flickering frames in between the footage flashing “NUK3TOWN OFFLINE” and the logo of the uniform wore by Peter Weller, will keep you intrigued. It seems the storyline will feature human race being pinned down to its last defense. Even though the storyline is still not clear, from this point you can easily relate to either one of the community favorite theories we mentioned earlier.

Now, no matter how mind-blowing the game will turn out to be, this entire drama is certainly getting the CoD community hyped prior to the official release. Activision has also confirmed the upcoming edition will make an appearance in this year’s edition of E3 during the Sony press conference, scheduled for next month.
