Dead Star

MOBAs tend to be everywhere today but once in a while a new game such as Dead Star tries to bring in a new perspective and it does that in an incredible and refined manner. What Dead Star does is that it brings you the ability to join a team of 5 players that will try to establish a base and keep it safe all while eliminating the enemies. As you can expect the other team will try to do the same and you have to stop them.

The graphics in Dead Star are simply amazing to be honest and that on its own helps the game a lot. The towers are visually stunning, animations are very good and everything is so detailed that you will surely appreciate the way it looks.

Having a fleet that you can man in any way you want is actually very useful and they do deliver a multitude of interesting options that do help taking the experience to new heights. You will like the customization options as well.

During the game you will try to take out neutrals as well as enemies, grab as many control points as you can and also collect ore in order to upgrade bases. This might be challenging at first but it is also very rewarding which is maybe the best thing here to be honest.

Controls are responsive and the fact that you have the ability to move your ship around fast and get points as well as kill enemies or collect ore to upgrade bases is really cool. There’s a neat value to be had with Dead Star and that’s what probably makes everything so refined and fun to begin with, that’s for sure.

Each match can earn you medals, which is a nice thing to say the least, and that on its own is more than interesting. Of course, you can engage larger ships in battle if you want and mobility is a true and fun way to try to eliminate them if you so desire. Sometimes, even the smallest mistake can be costly but that’s maybe the true fun and excitement of Dead Star in the end, because you get so much value from the little things to begin with.

The game has a tutorial which is good and enriched with info. But make no mistake, Dead Star does keep the MOBA mechanics so it will take some time to create strategies. It’s also a game about teams, so it does come down to how well you communicate with your team. The issue for some might be that Dead Star is a paid MOBA, and the price of around $20 or your regional equivalent makes it quite expensive especially for casual players. Yet the title has managed to create quite a loyal community so it’s not hard to find a game regardless of when you play.

As a whole, Dead Star is a nice MOBA with a great setting. If you want a MOBA in space this is what you will love for sure, all you have to do is try it as it’s quite impressive to begin with.
